RAPID MANUFACTURING SERVICE
Urethane & Silicone Prototype Castings/RTV
This process can be utilized for manufacturing prototypes, short runs and some production applications. It is uniquely suited for creating exact reproductions of highly detailed models which do not require production plastic resin. We offer cast urethane parts produced from silicone rubber molds. The tooling patterns for the molds can be derived from SLS, SLS, plastic, metal or original parts. RTV molds can produce from 20 to 50 parts. Urethane based tooling is also available for longer runs.
Urethane and Silicone castings can be fabricated from a widerange of materials. Cured urethanes 
exhibit molded qualities
from flexible Shore A to ABS-like Shore D qualities. We can also
color match or mold to liquid clear.
This rapid manufacturing service can deliver urethane parts in 2-3 weeks.
Liquid Resin Casting
Closely paralleling RIM injection molding, this rapid setting urethane process utilizes a wide variety of materials. Both flexible and rigid urethanes are available for use in this process.
Depending on part geometry and material specifications either epoxy, urethane, silicone or aluminum tooling is used. Most molds are made directly from models of the finished part. These models can be made from many different materials i.e. wood, plastic, metal, SLA, SLS, etc…
Unlike injection molding, consistent wall thickness is not required. Parts can be produced with a wall thickness as thin as 1/16” and as thick as 1”+, all in the same part. Threaded bushings and other features can be molded in eliminating some secondary operations. Parts can be molded in different colors or post mold painted. This process is capable of manufacturing parts 250 cubic inches in volume and up to 48 inches in length.
