RAPID PROTOTYPING

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM)

Fused Deposition Modeling is a rapid prototyping process which extrudes a semi-liquid ABS plastic material. Your part designs emerge as a solid three dimensional part without the need for tooling. FDM parts are some of the most durable RP parts available in the market. The mechanical properties of these high-performance engineering plastic prototyping materials allow us to produce models that can be assembled, tested, even used as production parts (85% of molded part strength). FDM is a good choice for parts that need to be robust, machined, have threaded inserts, and/or assembled for fit-and-function. Materials such as ABS and Polycarbonate are used.

Applications

  • Form, fit and functional testing.
  • Tough, Durable and Accurate parts for functional testing. (Fit, Form, & Function)
  • When functionality is more important than surface finish.
  • Quick turnaround and competitive pricing for small to medium size parts.
  • Suitable for initial product design and visualization purpose.
  • Proof of design & engineering evaluations
