Fused Deposition
Modeling (FDM)
Fused Deposition Modeling is a rapid
prototyping service process which extrudes a semi-liquid
ABS plastic material. Your part designs emerge
as a solid three dimensional part without the
need for tooling. FDM parts are some of the most
durable RP parts available in the market. The
mechanical properties of these high-performance
engineering plastic prototyping materials allow
us to produce models that can be assembled, tested,
even used as production parts (85% of molded part
strength). FDM is a good choice for parts that
need to be robust, machined, have threaded inserts,
and/or assembled for fit-and-function. Materials such as ABS and Polycarbonate are used.
