We manufacture prototype and short run deep drawn metal components using spinning and hydroforming processes. Both of these processes are ideal for prototypes. The advantage is in the shorter time and smaller investment to make the simpler tools required compared to typical forming tools.
To be able to spin parts they must be round shapes (cans, flanges, domes, funnels). Typical materials are copper, steel, aluminum, stainless less than .090 thick.
For heavier materials or odd shapes like ovals, the hydroforming process is used to manufacture prototypes.
Delivery is dependent on the complexity of the parts required but can usually be done in 2 to 4 weeks compared with 6 to 12 weeks when using conventional tooling.
